Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know to join the Novaldir alpha.
What is Novaldir?
A massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) in active development. Two factions, the Fnorj and the Naljir, ten classes, islands to explore, a 15 vs 15 battleground and a 2 vs 2 and 3 vs 3 arena.
How do I get an alpha key?
Fill in the Request an alpha key form, then confirm your request with the e-mail you receive. Keys are sent in waves, depending on available space: if you are selected, you will receive your key by e-mail.
I did not receive the confirmation e-mail.
Wait a few minutes and check your spam folder. The confirmation link is valid for 48 hours; after that, simply send a new request.
Can a key be used more than once?
No: a key creates a single account, then it is used up. Do not share it. Accounts created before the alpha keep their access.
What computer do I need?
A Windows 10 or 11 PC (64-bit) with a DirectX 12 compatible graphics card and up-to-date drivers. Details are on the Download page.
Windows says “Windows protected your PC”. Is that normal?
Yes. The Novaldir installer is new and does not yet have the reputation SmartScreen expects. Click “More info”, then “Run anyway”. The illustrated steps are on the Download page. Only download the launcher from novaldir.com.
Is it free?
Yes, alpha access is free: all you need is a key. The terms of the game after the alpha will be announced on Discord.
Does it run on Mac, Linux or in the browser?
Not for now: the alpha is played on Windows, through the launcher only.
I found a bug, what should I do?
Report it on our Discord: describe what you were doing, what happened, and attach a screenshot if you can. It is the best way to move the game forward.
What do you do with my data?
Only what is needed to process your request, with no trackers and no resale. Everything is explained in the privacy policy.
Need help?
