Privacy policy
What data the site collects, why, for how long, and your rights.
Last updated: 13 October 2026
In short
- This site sets no cookies, uses no trackers or analytics, and stores nothing in your browser.
- The only personal data collected is that of the “Request an alpha key” form.
- It is never sold or shared, and is only used to process your request.
Data controller
The publisher of Novaldir, a project published on a non-commercial basis — contact: contact@novaldir.com.
Data collected by the form
| Data | Required | Why |
|---|---|---|
| E-mail address | Yes | To confirm your request, then send you your key or our answer. |
| Nickname | Yes | To identify you in requests and in our e-mails. |
| Discord name | No | To find you on our Discord if needed. |
| Computer (graphics card, processor, memory, Windows) | No | To pick testers with a variety of machines and anticipate compatibility issues. |
| Page language | Automatic | To write to you in French or English. |
| Fingerprint of your IP address | Automatic | To limit abuse (requests per hour). Your IP address is not kept in clear: only a fingerprint hashed with a secret key is. |
The legal basis is your consent, given by ticking the form's box. You can withdraw it at any time.
Retention
- Unconfirmed request: the confirmation link expires after 48 hours; the request is deleted at most 30 days after it was sent.
- Confirmed request (pending, accepted or declined): kept during the alpha phase, and at most 12 months after your request.
- If you then create a game account, that account's data falls under the operation of the game, not this form.
Who has access?
Only the publisher of Novaldir. Data is stored on our server, hosted in France by OVH, which also sends the e-mails; no data is transferred outside the European Union.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to, restrict and port your data, and to withdraw your consent. To exercise them — for example to have your request deleted — write to contact@novaldir.com from the address concerned. We answer within one month.
If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr).
Security
The site is served over HTTPS only. Requests are stored on the server, outside the site's public folder, and only the publisher can view them.
